Inverness Town House stain glass window refurbishment
Work begins on Monday 27 June and continues for 12 weeks on the refurbishment of three west facing stain glass windows in the Town Hall, Town House, Inverness, which overlook Castle Wynd.
This will involve erecting a full height scaffold on Castle Wynd to remove the three windows to an off-site studio where a specialist stain glass window restorer will fully refurbish the windows.
During this time, the contractor will be working on repairing and replacing damaged and missing stone work. The stone work will also be undertaken by a specialised stonemason.
The estimated cost of the refurbishment is £74,000.
The main contractor is McGregor Construction, who will be setting up a works site in the Town House Car Park, Castle Street. As a result of the work, visitor access to meetings etc will be restricted. Disabled persons will be given priority if attending meetings.
Access to Castle Wynd should not be affected by the works.
