North Kessock Primary School makes it to Euroquiz final in Scottish Parliament

North Kessock Primary School has won a coveted place in the grand final of the Scottish European Trust’s Euroquiz, to be held in June in the Scottish Parliament Debating Chamber.

Euroquiz is a competition for primary 6 pupils which helps them develop their knowledge of Europe and the European Union, as well as core skills such as communication and teamwork.

Over 1500 pupils from across Scotland compete in the various heats held in local authorities, with the winning teams from each heat going forward to the final in Edinburgh.  The competition is promoted and organised by the Scottish European Educational Trust and sponsored by Standard Life.

To secure their place in the final, the North Kessock Primary team of Captain Aine Beattie, Gregor MacDowall, Logan Maclean and Max Morgan fought off competition from 9 other primary schools in the Highland Council area.

They demonstrated an amazing knowledge of the geography, history, culture, politics and sport of Europe, scoring an amazing 101 points out of 111.

Other schools that took part were: Balloch, Cradlehall, Dornoch, Drakies, Farr (Inverness), Kiltearn, Portree, Resolis and Rosebank Primaries.
