Deadline approaches for comments on Local Plan
The deadline for commenting on The Highland Council’s consultation paper for the new Sutherland Local Plan is just a week away. Council staff have completed a programme of exhibitions and meetings and have set a deadline of Friday 15 December for comments.
David Cowie, Principal Planner, said: “There is still time for anyone with an interest in the future development of their community in Sutherland to send in their views at this important stage in the Plan process. The exhibitions and meetings have enabled us to gather local knowledge and community views on the issues affecting the future development of the area. They have added value to the process of preparing the new Local Plan, which should be a better Plan as a result. Our thanks go to all those who have participated so far.
“We are working on the production of a newsletter, which will soon be publicly available and which will summarise the key issues which have been drawn to our attention at the recent consultation events.”
The Council placed copies of “Sutherland Futures” in Service Points, in its Area Planning and Building Standards Office at Dornoch, in its Inverness HQ, as well as in Public Libraries and Post Offices across Sutherland. It is also available on the Council’s web site www.www.highland.gov.uk.
Further copies of “Sutherland Futures” can be requested by telephoning 01463 702262.
