Two new Sutherland head teachers

The Highland Council has appointed two new primary school head teachers in Sutherland.

At Brora, Dawn MacKenzie, acting head teacher for the past 18 months, has been appointed as the head teacher. 

The new head teacher of Lairg and Altnaharra Primary Schools is Ruth Adams, currently head teacher at Ocker Hill School, Tipton, West Midlands.  It is hoped Ms Adams will take up her new in August.

She will replace  head teacher Mrs Isobel Gillies, who retires at the end of the current  school  session after almost 36 years teaching service in the Highlands, 23 years of which have been spent at Lairg.
