New head teacher at Park Primary School, Invergordon
The Highland Council has appointed Tania Mackie to the post of Head Teacher at Park Primary School in Invergordon.
Mrs Mackie was the Depute Head Teacher at Park Primary School and had been acting up as Head Teacher since February. She takes over from Ms Eleanor Neil, who had been Head Teacher at Park Primary for 12 years.
The school has 194 pupils and 60 nursery school pupils.
She said: “I would like to thank the staff, pupils and parents for all their support over the last year and I will continue, with all those involved in school life, to move Park Primary School forward in its journey towards excellence.”
Prior to moving to the Highlands two--and-a-half years ago, Mrs Mackie ran an Outdoor Education Department within a Community College at Sharnbrook Upper School, Bedfordshire, and was in post as a Head of Geography.
She also has experience working in the Press and Publicity Department at BSkyB, as a marine archaeological researcher and illustrator for Oxford University Marine Archaeological Research and Excavation Unit and a researcher for the Discovery Channel.
