Inverness school organises Christmas shopping night
Pupils at an Inverness primary school have organised a Christmas shopping night on Thursday 8 December with over 20 tables of festive wares for sale by businesses from Inverness, Nairn, Elgin and further afield.
Everyone is welcome and entry is free from 6 to 8pm at Raigmore Primary where there will be a raffle with some great prizes, and stalls including home baking, bric-a-brac and items that the children have been making, as well as face painting and jewellery.
Head Teacher Fiona Shearer commended the Primary 7 pupils who have been busy organising the Christmas shopping night, along with their class teacher Miss Shuttleworth.
Mrs Shearer said: “Our pupils are raising funds to go towards the cost of a residential trip next spring. They have written to local businesses to ask if they would like to hire a stall from them and have also been working on items to sell at stalls of their own. Teddy Mountain and Temple Spa are taking tables as well as Tesco who will be raising funds for their chosen charity for Alzheimers. This is the first time that such an event has been held at the school and we are hoping that we get a large turnout and that it will be a great success.”
