Nominations for Community Council elections
A total of 137 out of 156 Community Councils in the Highlands have attracted sufficient interest to form a new Council from 16 November.
25 Community Councils drew more nominations than their maximum membership, paving the way for elections by postal vote on 16 November.
112 Community Councils attracted more than half the maximum membership, allowing them to function from 16 November.
The total number of valid nominations was 1,065.
A total of 19 Community Councils will not be established as they failed to attract half the maximum membership.
The final picture emerged after a period of withdrawal of nominations at 4 pm on Thursday 6 October.
The maximum membership of each of the 156 Highland Community Councils is determined by the population it serves and varies from 7 - 13 members.
