Alien Invaders flee Inverness children
Fears that it would prove impossible to get rid of the extra terrestial army which had set up camp on Ness Islands in Inverness proved to be unfounded over the weekend as hundreds of Inverness children dressed up in their scariest outfits and sent them skyward to think again.
An estimated 10,000 spectators attended the spectacular opening event of this year's Inverness Festivals Winter Celebrations, a Halloween show called "Alien Invasion - Close Encounters of the UFO Kind" which took place on Ness Islands; and featured the creative talents of Eden Court Theatre, Arts in Motion, Fireworx Scotland and the Highland Council's Lighting Department.
After passing through a smoke filled decontamination area, which quickly identified those who had been infected by Alien DNA and needed to be placed in quarantine, the spectators travelled around a 1300 metre circuit filled with a variety of encounters and projections of the UFO Kind.
Councillor Glynis Sinclair said "We are delighted that so many children dressed up in their scariest outfits in order to help us chase the aliens away. It seems like more families than ever before got dressed up and we are so grateful for their support for our show. The atmosphere on Ness Islands this weekend has been wonderful".
