Dingwall Library gives a warm welcome to friends from Catalonia

A warm Highland welcome will be extended to a group of visitors from Taradell, Catalonia in North East Spain this weekend (Saturday 10 September) when they come to Dingwall Library.

The Catalonian group comprising staff from Taradell Library, representatives from their area tourist office, Catalan Book Group members and hill walkers will met Dingwall Library staff and members of the local Dingwall book and sewing groups.

Jill Meredith, Highland Council’s Library Supervisor explained the reason for their visit: “Early this year, library staff in Taradell got in touch with us. Their contribution to a Catalan promotion of hill walking holidays in the Highlands of Scotland led them to make contact with a Highland library. Since then we have been exchanging information leaflets, books and music and kept communication on a joint website blog.

“We were delighted when they told us that they would be visiting the Highlands and would be in our area for four days. We are looking forward to meeting them and sharing a few hours of Highland hospitality - some informal conversation, food and music.”
