Invergordon Academy re-opens

Invergordon Academy re-opened today (Tuesday) following extensive repair and clean up work at the school.

The school was closed on Monday as the result of leakage from a roof, which caused water damage to the canteen and corridors providing access to classrooms.

This morning, pupils were advised to bring a packed lunch or money to buy a sandwich as the canteen facilities are still out of operation due to the damage caused by the roof leak.

The water penetration arose as a result of work currently being carried out at the school to replace the roof over the canteen.
The contractor, Bell Contracts, began work in July and the work was due for completion in October.

The value of the contract is £149,000.
