Taxi and private hire vehicle inspections

The Highland Council is inviting suitably qualified and experienced contractors to apply for inclusion on a select list of tenderers for the statutory inspection and testing of taxis and private hire vehicles under one contract covering the entire Council area. 

The service to be provided covers  1,029 taxi and private hire vehicle inspections each year to both MOT and the current Council standard (equivalent to the Vehicle Inspectorate Car and Light Commercial Inspection).  

The contract is for a period of 3 years, commencing 1 April 2012, with an option to extend for up to a maximum of one year.  

The Council will select those to be invited to tender on the basis of experience, capabilities and financial standing following completion of a Pre Qualification Questionnaire and it is anticipated that Invitations to Tender will be issued to a maximum of 6 selected contractors.  

The final date for receipt of expressions of interest is no later than the 21 October 2011.

registering with the relevant advert on www.publiccontractsscotland.gov.uk

Any person wishing to be considered for inclusion on the tender list should acquire a Pre Qualification Questionnaire from the address above. Fully completed Pre-Qualification Questionnaires must be returned no later than 12 Noon on the 28 October 2011.  

Full tender documentation shall be issued to successful applicants during November 2011. 

The tendering procedure is being conducted in accordance with EU and National  Procurement Regulations - Restricted Procedure, and a Notice was dispatched to the Official Journal of the European Union on 12 September 2011.
