A861 Drynie Hill (Kinlochmoidart) Road Works Contract - Update

Work on the A861 Drynie Hill (Kinlochmoidart) is progressing well, with The Highland Council's contractor Wills Bros Ltd of Foxford, County Mayo, now aiming for a completion date of mid July 2012. The current temporary road closure now effectively in place is to be extended to 15 June 2012 to ensure public safety is continued, and also to allow the contractor to safely carry out the road construction operations on the existing single track road.

Morning and afternoon temporary road closures will be in place from Monday - Friday.

The morning closure is between 10am and 12:25pm (for 12:35pm southbound traffic) and the afternoon closure is between 1.10pm to 3:30pm (for 3:40pm southbound traffic).

Road closures will not take place on public holidays. These dates are Friday 6 April, Monday 9 April,  Monday 7 May, Friday 11 May (Scottish Six Day Trials) and Monday 4 June (Queen's Jubilee Holiday).

Motorists are asked to follow local diversions and the Council apologises for any inconvenience caused.

The works to widen the existing single track to a twin lane road are being partially funded from the European Regional Development Fund.
