Stromeferry By-pass reopening on Monday 23 April confirmed

The Highland Council has confirmed that the A 890 road between Lochcarron and Kyle/Plockton will reopen to all traffic for 24-hour movement from Monday 23 April, with only minor delays to allow the removal of vegetation to be completed.  It is hoped that all works will be completed and traffic restrictions removed by Friday 4 May. 

This will be for the first time since a rock fall on 22 December, last year, that the road has been able to fully re-open.

Contractors TRAC Engineering Ltd are currently removing all materials from the railway line, which was used recently to divert traffic through the works. This work will be completed by Monday (23 April). Until then the road is open between 7 am and 7 pm, with traffic led through the works by convoy.
