Tain “devastated” at loss of pupil

Northern Constabulary has confirmed that the body found on Friday afternoon in woods at Edderton, East Ross, is that of missing Moyra Liz As-Chainey, a fifth year pupil at Tain Royal Academy.  

Donnie MacLeod, Rector of Tain Royal Academy, said: "I am devastated to hear this tragic news. On behalf of staff and pupils at our school, I extend our sincere sympathies to Moyra's parents and family at this very sad time." 

Mr MacLeod and his staff and pupils had assisted police with their investigations. 

Moyra was in her fifth year and was preparing for her SQA exams.
