Parent Council opens Portree Primary School new playground equipment.

The official opening of Portree Primary School’s new playground equipment took place on Friday 7 December. Moreen Pringle and Helen Gilpin of the Parent Council cut a ribbon to officially declare the play area open.

In August 2011 the Parent Council decided to start raising funds for new equipment and in 12 months they raised the £25,000 needed to provide the school with new play equipment and a new outdoor classroom area.

Many events were organised by the Parent Council and the school. In addition to these on-going fund-raising events other local people and groups also contributed to the purchase of the equipment. Those who helped were all invited to the opening.
