Badenoch and Strathspey

Skye and Lochalsh
Treating all priority 1, 2 and 3 routes with 20g ahead of sleet and snow forecast to arrive between 11am - 12noon. Risk of freezing rain and light snow showers this afternoon until early evening and remaining very cold. No reported problems on main priorities so far this morning. Posted: 13/12/2012 09:37

Mid and West Ross
Very cold and frosty throughout area. All routes being patrolled and treated where necessary. Posted: 13/12/2012 09:22

Lochaber
Still some ice and hoar frost across the area. Primary routes salted in anticipation of snow coming in along the west coast. Posted: 13/12/2012 09:03

South Sutherland and Easter Ross
Widespread hoar frost affecting whole area and a light dusting of snow on higher routes all routes being treated in priority order. Posted: 13/12/2012 08:34

Nairn

Caithness and North Sutherland
Widespread severe hoar frost with dusting of frozen snow over higher routes. Many icy stretches after overnight wintry showers. Treating all routes with sand/salt mix as road surface temperatures are around -5 degrees and unlikely to warm up by much through the day. Posted: 13/12/2012 08:18
