Redevelopment planned for Hilton pub site, Inverness

Members of The Highland Council’s Inverness Ness-side Ward have welcomed the award of a contract to demoliish the former Jolly Drover pub at Hilton, Inverness to pave the way for redevelopment.

Councillors Norrie Donald, John Finnie, David Henderson and Fraser Parr hope that funding can be secured to develop council housing on the site.  Once funding is available, the Councillors plan to consult with local residents on the detailed plans for the new housing development.

The demolition work, estimated to cost £50,000, begins on Monday (6 February) for 10 weeks, giving a planned completion date of Friday 13th April.  The building will be fenced off during the demolition process, and the contractor MacGregor Construction (Highland) Ltd  will work between 8am and 6pm.
