Leeks on the menu at Cromarty Primary
Pupils of Cromarty Primary’s Garden Group pulled up the last of their leeks which have been grown for the school kitchen. The school cook, Christel MacLean was delighted with the crop and will be turning them into delicious soup for lunch time.
The Garden Group has grown a variety of vegetables throughout the year with the support of parent helpers Tracey Kerfoot and Helen Elliot.
Head Teacher Henri Shepherd said: “Our Garden Group is just one of our Citizenship Groups which meet fortnightly. They all contribute to the life of the school and promoting sustainability. The Garden Group have done a tremendous job producing vegetables which have been enjoyed by all the pupils and the wider community.”
