Police investigating break in at Caol Primary and other commercial premises around the village

Police in Fort William are carrying out inquiries into three seperate break ins, two at industrial premises and one at Caol Primary School.

The first premises to be broken into was Harbro agricultural premises at Annat on the A830 at Corpach where a small amount of cash was taken. This break in happened sometime between 2100 on Tuesday 10 January 2012 and 0700 on 11 January 2012.

The second break in happened at Direct Pet Supplies at Blar Mhor Industrial Estate in Caol. This took place sometime between 2100 last night and 0800 this morning. A three figure sum was stolen.

Then between 1945 on Wednesday 11 January and 0745 this morning Caol Primary School was broken into and a three figure sum was stolen along with various pieces of electrical equipment.

Amongst the stolen items are 3 x Epsom overhead projectors, three Fujitsu laptops (no sensitive data), a Fujifilm point and shoot camera and a Canon SLR camera. A Nintendo Wii was also taken.

Officers have not ruled out a link between the incidents and scene of crime work is currently ongoing at all three premises.

The Highland Council immediately informed Police about the incident after school arrived at  school this morning.

Initially, pupils were gathered in the school hall as police carried out investigations. Later in the day pupils were able to return to their classrooms.

A spokesman for the Highland Council said: "We have reported the matter to the police, who are investigating the break in and theft of cash and equipment."
