Roadworks A82 – three miles south of Fort William

Scotland TranServ, acting on behalf of Transport Scotland, will be carrying out essential drainage works three miles south of Fort William on the A82 at Innes-na-birlin cemetery.

To avoid heavy traffic flow periods the works will take place between 18:00 hours and 23:30 hours starting on Monday 9 July until Saturday 14 July 2012.

The works are not associated with the recent Forestry Commission activity in the area and can only be carried out now that Commission's works have moved away from the road.

A Scotland TranServ spokesman said:

“The works involve removing and replacing drainage material in an area of the road which has become susceptible to flooding in heavy rain conditions. Due to the nature of the works two way traffic light operation will be in place meaning diversions will not be required.”

Motorists should allow extra time for their journeys and pay attention to any advisory signs which will be in place throughout the works. For real time journey planning information visit www.trafficscotland.org
