Weekend Highland dancing events

This weekend will see the staging of two Highland Dancing events supported by The Highland Council.

On Friday (26 July) evening at 7.30pm, fundraising for October’s North of Scotland Highland Dancing Championships will commence with a special fundraising show in Inverness Town House. The event is organised by the Fraser School of Highland Dance; who will also be putting on outdoor shows outside of Inverness Castle every Thursday evening at 7.30pm as part of the Inverness Festivals programme for the next 5 weeks.

On Sunday (29 July) the first of the major Highland Dancing Championships held in Inverness annually takes place at Charleston Academy and Community Complex. Over 100 dancers are expected to attend the 2012 City of Inverness Highland Dancing Championships organised by the Le-Ellen School of Highland Dance.
