Accommodation providers wanted

The Highland Council is looking for accommodation providers to come forward with rooms that can be used to provide temporary accommodation for homeless people.

Approximately 1300 households approached The Highland Council last year as homeless. Thanks to the work the Homeless Prevention team are doing, this is approximately 1000 less households than the previous year.

Depute Chief Executive and Director of Housing and Property, Steve Barron said:  “The Council has a duty to provide accommodation for households who are homeless so we are looking for landlords who will assist by entering into an agreement with us to provide suitable accommodation that we can use.”

Anyone who thinks they can assist the Council and would like further details of what would be involved can find out more by going to the Public Contracts Scotland website http://www.publiccontractsscotland.gov.uk

The closing date for expressions of interest is Wednesday 20 June and completed applications must be submitted by 25 June.
