Rogie Falls footbridge to reopen

The Highland Council and Forestry Commission Scotland are notifying members of the public that the Rogie Falls footbridge near Contin will open again for public access from Saturday June 9th. The footbridge has been closed since March 26th for construction of a new bridge costing £123,000.00. An official opening will take place later this year.

The footbridge is located two miles to the west of Contin and is accessed mainly from the Forestry Commission car park on the A835. The bridge provides views of the Rogie Falls and access for walkers across the River Blackwater and the area is popular with both visitors and locals.

The forest area is owned and managed by the Forestry Commission Scotland, while the bridge is the responsibility of The Highland Council.
Forestry Commission Scotland estimates annual visitor numbers to the site to be in excess of 65,000.
