Loss of telephone services

A failure of ALL landline telephone services within the areas serviced by the following exchanges has been notified by British Telecom to Northern Constabulary:
 
Ardvasar, Balallan, Glendale, Glenshiel, Killilan, Uig
 
It is estimated that telephone services will be lost for some considerable time.
 
Additional police patrols have been established in the area along with static response points.  Members of the public who require assistance from any of the ‘999’ emergency services should make their way to one of the ‘999’ response points located at:
