Inverness war memorial appeal

The Royal British Legion Scotland Inverness Branch - in conjunction with the City of Inverness Committee of The Highland Council - are looking to update the Cavell Gardens War Memorial in Inverness with the names of all members of HM Forces that have been killed or have died as a result of injuries sustained in any conflict post-1945.

They are also looking for the names of any member of HM Forces up to the present day, who have died as the result an accident whilst serving in HM Forces.

They are appealing to members of the public in Inverness and the surrounding areas, who have lost members of their family or know of someone who has given the ultimate sacrifice for their country. To enable the authorities to verify the details for the entry on the war memorial, they require as much information about the deceased as possible, such as the number, rank and full name of the deceased, ship, unit, regiment, squadron or base, conflict in which the incident occurred.

The contacts are the Secretary of the Royal British Legion Scotland Inverness Branch on 01463 741732 or Inverness Town House Tel: 01463 724204.
