Top Marks For Avoch Primary School Nursery

The nursery class in Avoch Primary School scored an impressive five "key strengths" in their recent inspection by the School Inspectors and Care Commission.


The report commended the nursery’s high quality teaching which supported children’s learning. It went on to praise the nursery’s very attractive and stimulating environment, both inside and outside. The inspectors also noted that the nursery gave very good opportunities for the children to develop their skills in communication and language, knowledge and understanding of the world and physical development and movement.


The staff planning and child assessment procedures were also praised, as well as the commitment of the staff team, which the report noted was effectively led by the nursery co-ordinator teacher.


Nicholas Gubbins, chair of the school board, said: "This is an excellent achievement. Thenursery in Avoch school has always been well regarded in Avoch, Fortrose, Rosemarkie and the surrounding country areas, and this inspection report clearly shows why."
