MOTORISTS WARNED OF DISRUPTION ON A890

Motorists are being advised of possible delays over the next eight weeks while rock removal and stabilisation works are taking place to the east and west of the Avalanche Shelter on the A 890 between Stromeferry and Attadale.

Specialist contractor, Trac International, commence work on Monday 16 January on removing loose rock and vegetation from six areas on the rock face and installing rock netting.

Traffic will be delayed at any one time for no more than a maximum of 15 minutes while the contractor removes loose rock and vegetation from the hillside.

Vegetation and rock will not be removed from the hillside when trains are due.

The value of the contract is £110,000.
