Whiteness Head guided walk

The Highland Council Countryside Ranger John Orr  will be leading a guided walk to Whiteness Head on Sunday  (1st April). The 5 mile, 8km, walk, winds it way through farmland, salt marsh and gravel ridges to the remote spit which juts out into the Moray Firth.

John Orr said:  “This will be the fifth time we’ve run this walk and every year’s been different. There’s a good chance of seeing a variety of wildlife including seals hauling out opposite the spit and lots of wildfowl and waders such as eider ducks and turnstones godwits and other coastal species.”

The guided walk, 11am – 3pm, costs £5 for adults and £3 for children and concessions. Anyone interested in coming along should meet up at Hilton of Denies farm, off the B9092 Ardersier - Nairn road (grid reference NH 845564). Please bring walking boots, waterproofs and some lunch. Children must be accompanied by an adult. For more information please phone the council’s Countryside Rangers on 01463 702932
