The birds of Badenoch

From the marshes of the River Spey to the high mountain tops Badenoch is home to a rich variety of birdlife.  On Sunday (27 May) there is a chance  to join The Highland Council’s Countryside Ranger for an early morning guided walk between Kingussie and Newtonmore, via Loch Gynack to see, hear and learn more about the birds of Badenoch.

Duncan Macdonald, The Highland Council Countryside Ranger for Badenoch and Strathspey South said:  “It is quite remarkable how many habitats are within easy walking distance from the heart of our communities, each with its’ own assemblage of birds.  This is a great walk around Creag Bheag and weather permitting, the birds should be great too.”

Anyone wishing to join Duncan should meet up at the War Memorial opposite the Duke of Gordon Hotel in Kingussie at 7am. The return time to this point will be 11am.  No dogs please and the cost will be £5 adults, concessions £3.
For more information call Duncan Macdonald on 01479 873706
