Council welcomes more improvements for ‘Road to the Isles.

The Highland Council has warmly welcomed news that the A830 will benefit from a series of improvements recently announced by Transport Scotland.

According to Transport Scotland, these measures have come about following a meeting on 26 October in Arisaig between officials from the national transport agency, Highland Council local members, community councillors, and members of the public.

The measures proposed include:

Councillor Graham Phillips, Chairman of The Highland Council’s Transport Environmental and Community (TEC) Services committee said: “The Road to the Isles is celebrated far and wide with some of the most spectacular scenery in the world.  These works will improve the road for locals and tourists alike.  We look forward to welcoming more visitors to the area."
