Packed programme for Sunday’s Inverness Christmas Lights switch on
The Inverness Christmas Lights Switch On and Ding Dong Merrily Old High Christmas Carol Concert takes place in on Sunday 18 November and the Inverness Festivals Team has organised a packed programme of entertainment to entertain the families who are expected to gather.
The event at Inverness Town House will be hosted by STV's Nicola McAlly and feature Santa and Bjorn the Polar Bear who will help Provost Alex Graham switch on the lights.
The front of the Town House will be transformed by illuminations provide by Arts in Motion; and amongst those singing on the night will be members of TFX Scotland Musical Theatre School and Singing for Pleasure. There will be a number of characters on the streets courtesy of Mascot Madness.
The show starts at 5.15pm, with the lights switched on at 6 pm. Then the crowd will be invited to visit the Old High Church in Church Street for "Ding Dong Merrily Old High”, the Inverness Festivals traditional Christmas Carol concert.
Drivers are asked to note that road closures and diversions will be in operation between 5pm and 6.30pm on Sunday. The roads closed during this period are:
