Round-the-clock efforts focused on re-opening Castle Road, Inverness
Work continues round the clock to resolve issues surrounding the diversion of utility services on the Ness Bridge, Inverness, at its junction with Bridge Street/Bank Street/Castle Road. This will include overnight working for a fourth night tonight (Thursday).
The aim is to re-open two-way traffic on Castle Road in time for commuter traffic tomorrow (Friday). A decision will be made later today.
Traffic movement on Castle Road has been reduced to one-way movement away from the city centre as a result of additional work required in diverting utility services in connection with the River Ness Flood Scheme.
Traffic heading into the city centre from Haugh Road is being diverted via View Place and Castle Street.
As a result of the intensive works on Castle Road, work on Huntly Street, between Young Street and Greig Street, which was due to start today (Thursday), has been delayed until Monday.
