Council properties for sale
The Highland Council is seeking offers for the sale of surplus Council buildings. This includes a village hall, a former care home, a former school, an office building, a workshop garage and a house.
The properties are being advertised from today ( Thursday 18 October). There are a range asking prices and some of the properties are subject to early closing dates. Details of all the buildings available for sale can be found on the Properties for Sale webpage on the home page of the Council’s web site: http://www.www.highland.gov.uk/ or here.
A former council office building and site is available for purchase in Victoria Road, Brora. The Council believes it may offer an investment or development opportunity.
Also for sale is a former residential care home – Graham House, Dornie - which the Council says provides an exciting opportunity to redevelop a very unique site. Graham House is located in the centre of Dornie and 200 metres from Eilean Donan Castle.
At Fearn Hall, Hill of Fearn, there is a rare opportunity to purchase a detached stone and slate building with modern extensions. The former village hall dates back to 1887. The original building is of stone construction with a pitched slated roof, whilst the extensions are of a more modern block construction with flat mineral felt roofs. Internally the accommodation consists of a vestibule, main hall, 3 toilets (including a disabled toilet and an en-suite), 3 further rooms, a kitchen and a ramped walkway connecting the original building to the newer extensions.
At nearby Croft Arthur, Scotsburn Road, Tain, a detached, one and half storey cottage is for sale. The asking price is £110,000.
The former school and schoolhouse at Diabeg, West Ross, is also for sale, with an asking price of £190,000. The property comprises a detached former school & schoolhouse of one and three quarter storey design of stone & slate construction built in the late 1800s.
