Out with the otters at dawn in Strathspey

The Highland Council Countryside Rangers are inviting people in Strathspey to join them on two early morning guided walks to creep about in the early hours looking for otters spending time in their favourite habitat.

The events , which take place on Friday 21 and 28 September,  start at 7am with a short walk before settling down to wait for the otters to appear..

Saranne Bish Highland Council’s Countryside Ranger in Badenoch & Strathspey North said: “Dawn is just the best part of the day, an adventure waiting to happen with a real sense of anticipation. Luckily it’s also the best time to watch wildlife as much of it is primarily nocturnal. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee a sighting but we’ll have fun looking.”

Both events finish about 9am. The cost is £5 for adults and £3 for concessions.  Places are limited so please contact the Grantown-on-Spey ranger office on 01479 873 914 to book a place. Details of where to meet up will be given when bookings are made.

The aim of the Highland Council Countryside Rangers is to promote public enjoyment and appreciation of the countryside and to conserve wildlife.
