Opening of Thurso Toilets
New public toilets in Thurso are now open for use by visitors and locals.
On Monday (17 September) Jannetta Sutherland, Visitor Services Advisor with VisitScotland, whose office is opposite the new toilet block, was invited to cut the ribbon to mark the completion of the project.
The Highland Council has invested £198,000 in the new facilities which have been built on the site of the previous toilets for the town after they were deemed unfit for purpose due to structural problems.
Work to demolish and rebuild the facilities was carried out by Wick Contractor M M Miller
The Council has arranged for the cleaning and daily maintenance of the new toilets to be carried out by VacMan Cleaning Services.
