Notification of an Abnormal load travelling on both Sat and Sun - Invergordon to Fort Augustus

A 300 tonne abnormal load will be leaving Invergordon Docks at 08:00 on Saturday 22 September 2012 and travelling to a holding station in Beauly.
The route to be taken is B817 (Shore Road) to Alness and joining the A9. Once on the A9 it then makes for Tore and onto the A832 towards Muir of Ord, past the Black Isle show ground, then left on the A862 to Beauly which is on the A831 (Cannich Road).

The load will be leaving Beauly at 00:00 on Sunday 23 September 2012 and travelling to Fort Augustus where it is expected to arrive around 09:00 the same day.

The route to be taken will be along the A862 (Beauly) to the A833 Coulnakirk Road where there will be a full road closure. The load will continue on the A831 to Drumnadrochit joining the A82 to Fort Augustus where there will be another road closure for the north-bound lane. Delays will be expected for those travelling on the south-bound lane.

Because of the excessive weight of the load, it shall be very slow moving. Officers from Northern Constabulary will be escorting the load to ensure the safety of the travelling public and to minimise the inevitable traffic disruption.
