Marybank and Strathgarve nurseries celebrate play @ home

Parents, carers and children of Marybank and Strathgarve nurseries came together today for a songs, story and teddy bear picnic session at Marybank Primary School.

The occasion was the 10th anniversary of Highland parents receiving the play @ home series of booklets which promote active fun and games. Parents and younger brothers and sisters were also invited to join in the fun, which included a visit from Muir of Ord librarian Christine Swanson.  She told a story and then presented each child with their play @ home pre-school book and Pirate Bookbug.

All families are offered a series of three booklets at the baby, toddler and nursery stages so parents can dip in and find easy games, songs, rhymes and recipes that help their child’s development.
