Guided walk finding the Findhorn

The world famous River Findhorn has attracted people and wildlife for thousands of years and on Sunday (7 April) The Highland Council’s Countryside Ranger John Orr is leading a guided walk on the middle reaches of the river.

John said:  “This walk takes us up above the river with views upstream towards the Findhorn terraces then we descend to the deserted farm at Ballaggan at the river’s edge. Expect glorious views, fascinating history and a wealth of wildlife all connected with this part of the Findhorn.”

The walk, which takes place from 2pm – 5pm, is 5km (3 miles) and is a little steep in places. Anyone coming along should bring walking boots, waterproofs and a snack and hot drink. The cost is £5 for adults and £3 for children and concessions. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

For details of where to meet up and to book a place please phone the rangers on 01463 255291
