Ardersier beach clean and BBQ

The Highland Council Countryside Rangers and Ardersier Boat Club are organising an afternoon of beach cleaning to clear the seashore up before summer arrives. Volunteers are invited to come along and lend a hand during the afternoon of Sunday 21 April and anyone helping out is then invited to enjoy a relaxing BBQ at the end of the afternoon.

Ranger John Orr said: “This is a good way to get a bit of fresh sea air and help improve the look of this beautiful piece of coastline.  It will be all hands on deck with Ardersier Boat Club members and Junior Ardersier and Petty Environmental Society members helping out so why not join us too? After some litter-picking we will be providing a barbeque and a chance to have a look at the boat that the boat club have been building.”

Litter pickers and bags provided but anyone coming along is asked to bring their own gloves.  Running from 2pm – 5pm, volounteers are asked to meet up at the car park beside the pocket garden which is down the lane to the shore opposite the Gun Lodge Hotel.  All children must be accompanied by an adult.

The Countryside Rangers run many events and guided walks which aim to help raise awareness and encourage appreciation of the scenery, wildlife and heritage of the Highlands. A programme of Ranger Guided Walks and Events is on the council’s website at: www.highland.gov.uk
