Scottish Fire and Rescue Service in Hilton area, Inverness
SFRS news release
Members of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) are offering advice and reassurance to residents in the Hilton area of Inverness following a fatal fire in the area this week.
Firefighters will send a Community Service Vehicle to the Hilton area on Friday 9 August 2013 where residents can come in and discuss any fire safety concerns they may have relating to the homes of loved ones or people in their care. The offer of support is open to all residents who are more than welcome to come in and speak to a fire officer and raise any safety concerns they may have.
SFRS personnel aim to reassure the community and speak to people about reasonable precautions which can be taken to ensure homes are as safe as possible.
Station Manager David McDiarmid of the Prevention & Protection department, said: “Following the tragic incident earlier in the week we would like to extend an invitation to residents and invite them to come in and have a chat with us.”
The Community Service Vehicle will be situated around Hilton community/shopping centre and people can come and raise any concerns they may have with us. If your home is not currently fitted with a working smoke detector then we can install these free of charge as part of a home fire safety visit.
