Public consultation for pre-planning application for Inverness West Link
Following the public consultation events held in April and May 2013 regarding the proposals for the Inverness West Link scheme, the Torvean Golf Course/Sports Hub, and the Torvean & Ness-side Development Brief, the Highland Council has been reviewing its plans for the Torvean Golf Course/Sports Hub.
As a result of this review some changes are considered significant enough to require a new 12-week period of consultation with the public.
The Highland Council will now commence this formal Pre-Application Consultation exercise for the following revised proposed development:
“A mixed use development consisting of (1) an 18 hole golf course, practice area, and new golf club house, (2) the formation of a “Sports Hub” comprising sports pitches, fitness trails, car parking, and buildings to accommodate changing/shower facilities, (3) an extension to the existing Kilvean Cemetery, (4) Parkland areas, and ancillary works, all on land at Torvean, Inverness.”
This mixed use development forms part of the Council’s plans to reconfigure and enhance sporting and recreational facilities in this part of the City of Inverness. It is related to on-going work to progress the Inverness West Link application and will feature within the Torvean and Ness-side Development Brief.
The Highland Council will present the proposals for the above development at a Public Exhibition to be held on:
4th September 2013 - Kinmylies Church of Scotland, Kinmylies - 10am until 8pm
Representatives of the Highland Council TEC Services and Planning and Development Service will be in attendance at the Public Exhibition to talk the Public through the development proposals.
The information from the Public Exhibition consultations is available at http://www.highland.gov.uk/TSKP.htm , where you will also be able to submit a comment.
