BEAR Scotland in Brora to discuss A9 Management
Iain McDonald from BEAR Scotland will be attending the next East Sutherland and Edderton Ward Forum on Monday 26 August to discuss the management of the A9 trunk road.
BEAR Scotland took over the 5 year contract for the maintenance of the A9 in April 2013. The Ward Forum will give an opportunity for members of the community to meet Iain McDonald, who is the new Network Manager, and discuss the maintenance of the trunk road in the Ward.
Councillor Deirdre Mackay, Caithness and Sutherland Area Leader, said: “I welcome the opportunity to meet Mr McDonald and to discuss the maintenance of the trunk road in the ward. Unlike other areas, the A9 runs through the heart of three of our communities, so the management of the road is high on the agenda of those communities. I hope there will be a good turnout of local people ready to discuss ideas and any concerns.”
Cllr. Graham Phillips, who Chairs Highland Council TECS Committee, said: “The Highland Council enjoys a good working relationship with BEAR Scotland at the Highland level. This is a good opportunity for BEAR Scotland and local communities to develop a similar understanding and relationship.”
The meeting will take place at 7.30pm on Monday 26 August at the Scout and Guide Hall in Gower Street in Brora.
