Kingussie High School to re-open.
The Highland Council has confirmed that Kingussie High will re-open on Monday 26 August.
The Council considers the safety of pupils and staff as paramount and has given assurance that the delay in re-opening was necessary for the health and safety of the school community.
The school was initially planned to re-open on Wednesday 21 August, but this was delayed due to incomplete works on construction of a new extension to the school and associated clean-up related to these works. Subsequent plans to re-open the school today (Friday 23 August) were delayed due to technical difficulties with the fire alarm system.
The Council is now assured that the fire alarm system will be compliant on Monday 26 allowing the school to re-open.
Pupils, families and staff are being notified today that the school will re-open on Monday 26 August.
