Road condition and gritting treatment reports by The Highland Council’s, Transport, Environmental and Community Services for Thursday 5 December 2013 are as follows:

Lochaber
The U1598 Glen Achulish road has re-opened. Posted: 05/12/2013 16:19
The U1313 Bellsgrove-Polloch has now been reopened. Posted: 05/12/2013 14:27
Wide spread storm damage, trees down and standing water on roads. Crews dealing with fallen trees as required. Pre-treatment for forecast snow delayed until 11am due to residual effects of storm. Posted: 05/12/2013 10:28

Skye and Lochalsh

Badenoch and Strathspey
Road report update Heavy snow showers gritting ongoing, Curlys Lane Newtonmore closed due to blown tree. Posted: 05/12/2013 12:19. High gust of wind Trees and branches down on some roads this morning. All routes cleared and open. Rain turning to snow gritting ongoing all routes. Posted: 05/12/2013 11:11

North Sutherland 
Minor by-pass road at Tongue closed due to erosion and subsequent debris. Posted: 05/12/2013 11:50

Nairn
Several trees and branches were down over roads and all cleared. Posted: 05/12/2013 11:24
Wet and windy, some trees and branches on road, being cleared. Posted: 05/12/2013 08:39

Inverness
B9006/B9090 closed between Clephanton Crossroads and A96 due to accident car/tree. B852 Dores Foyers closed due to fallen trees. A number of side roads in Kiltarlity, Beauly, Foyers Gorthleck Areas blocked with fallen trees. Grant Street Inverness was closed due to dangerous building. B862 Inverness to Beauly Rd - Was blocked due to fallen trees now passable with care. Posted: 05/12/2013 11:04

Caithness, South Sutherland and East Ross
U2126 Oykel Bailley Bridge Road closed due to flooding. All roads in the Tain and Easter Ross, and Central Sutherland affected by fallen trees but currently passable. Roads throughout the area affected by fallen debris but passable with care. Posted: 05/12/2013 09:09

Caithness & North Sutherland
A mixture of heavy rain and wintery showers, high winds, treating all routes ahead of anticipated snow. Posted: 05/12/2013 09:05
