Deadline for glass recycling photo competition in Badenoch & Strathspey extended

There is still just time for householders in Badenoch and Strathspey to enter The Highland Council’s free glass recycling photo competition with family tickets for The Highland Wildlife Park worth £44 each on offer for two lucky winners

To be in with a chance to win all you need to do is email a photograph of yourself recycling your glass bottles and jars at any Badenoch & Strathspey Recycling Point or any Bottle Bank. With the Christmas season upon us  the closing date for entries has been extended until Monday 6th January which gives people plenty of opportunity to take their photo during the holidays when they are recycling extra bottles and jars.

The Highland Council has already received a number of entries from primary school pupils, who received a leaflet promoting the competition, however, the competition is open to everyone, so adults can enter as well.

Two winners will be chosen at random and will be announced in January.

Photographs should be emailed to recycle@highland.gov.uk or prints can be handed in to any of the Badenoch & Strathspey Service points.

The competition is part of a campaign to promote glass recycling opportunities across the Highlands.  Some householders recycle their glass bottles, but glass jars are often forgotten about. This includes jars for sauces, jams, spices and baby foods. All glass bottles and jars can be recycled, and it’s easy to do. Just remove the lids and rinse them out before popping them into the nearest glass recycling bank.
