New Head teacher for Ross-shire cluster schools

Kerrie Laird, currently the Deputy Head Teacher at Inshes Primary School in Inverness has been appointed the new head teacher for both Strathgarve and Marybank primary schools in Ross-shire.

She takes over from Jane Bentley who was appointed Head Teacher at Resolis Primary School in August.

Kerrie started her teaching career in the Highlands with her first job at Cauldeen Primary in Inverness.  She then taught for ten years at Tomnacross Primary. For the last year and a half of her time there, she took on the role of Acting Principal Teacher for the cluster with Tennassie Primary school by Beauly. From February to August this year she was acting up to the role of Head Teacher at Inshes Primary.

Kerrie, who will take up her new post after the Christmas holidays said:  “I am delighted and really looking forward to working with the pupils, staff and communities at both schools.”

Chairman of the Council’s Adults and Children’s Services Committee, Councillor Alasdair Christie Education congratulated Kerrie.  He said:  “I am sure everyone will want to join us in giving Kerrie a warm welcome in her new post and will offer her every support in taking both schools forward.”
