Gaelic pupils bring Christmas cheer to Highland Council.
Members of The Highland Council were entertained by pupils from Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Inbhir Nis – Inverness Gaelic School this week before the meeting of the Council at headquarters in Inverness.
Over twenty pupils from primaries 6 and 7 sang some Gaelic songs from their school performance based on the theme of films that have been released at Christmas.
Convener of The Highland Council, Councillor Jimmy Gray thanked the pupils and teachers for their singing, he said: “Thank you for the festive entertainment and for bringing a lot of warmth into the council building in the lead up to Christmas - it was most enjoyable.”
Head Teacher James Lyon said: “Our pupils thoroughly enjoyed their opportunity to perform before the Council session. We have had a lot of success this year at the National Mod and it was great to share some of our work with our Highland Councillors. It is great that one of our parents, Eilidh Barker has an expertise in conducting our choir so well. Nollaig Chridheil - Merry Christmas.”
