Antisocial Behaviour Roadshow Roll Into Town

Issued by the BIG partnership on behalf of the Scottish Executive.

The Scottish Executive’s Standing Up to Antisocial Behaviour roadshow comes to town on Monday (July 24), hitting Inverness to spell out how new laws are helping people’s lives become better.

People of all ages are urged to go along and visit the roadshow at Eastgate Shopping Centre in Inverness and find out for themselves the difference the Executive’s Antisocial Behaviour legislation has made over the past 18 months.

Covering the length and breadth of Scotland, the roadshow is visiting major towns and cities in the country, helping spread the message that antisocial behaviour does not have to be tolerated.

Deputy Justice Minister Hugh Henry will be visiting a number of the roadshows during the three-week tour and will be on hand to answer questions and listen to concerns.

Representatives from Highland Council will man the roadshow, offering information on the initiatives spearheaded by the local authority to help build safer communities.

The Highland Council's spokesperson on Housing, Councillor Sheena Slimon
said: "The Highland Council is strongly committed to tackling ASB and to working with local communities to help us do this.  I am delighted to welcome the ASB roadshow to Inverness and would encourage anyone with any questions to come along."

Visitors to the roadshows will be able to try their hands at a specially designed interactive quiz, with the chance to win some top prizes.

The interactive quizzes have been designed to be both fun and informative and help communicate how young people can help tackle antisocial behaviour in their own communities.

Last stop for the roadshow is in Kilmarnock on August 5.
