Road condition and gritting treatment reports by The Highland Council’s, Transport, Environmental and Community Services for the morning of Tuesday 5 February 2013 are as follows:

Lochaber
Covering of slush on most routes, up to 50cm snow on higher routes inland. Westerly routes mainly unaffected. Showers turning to sleet and rain, blading and treating where necessary by priority. Posted: 05/02/2013 09:13

Caithness and North Sutherland
Covering of slush on most routes. Up to 10cm snow on higher routes inland. Showers turning to sleet and rain, blading and treating where necessary by priority.

Ross and Cromarty
10 cms of fresh overnight snow on the high level routes in the West - raining at sea level. 2-5cms of fresh snow in the East - sleet at sea level. Continuing to treat as needed and by priority. Posted: 05/02/2013 08:40

South Sutherland and East Ross
8cm snow on high ground, low ground 2cm slush and wet roads becoming milder on the west raining. All routes being treated and bladed as necessary. Posted: 05/02/2013 08:33

Badenoch and Strathspey
South area 7-10 cms snow. North area 3-6 cms snow, drifting in open exposed areas. all routes been treated by priority.  Posted: 05/02/2013 08:14

Nairn
2cm of snow on lower roads, 5 cm of snow on higher routes with drifting. Treating all routes by priority. Posted: 05/02/2013 07:58

Skye and Lochalsh
Up to 3cm snow on high routes, becoming milder on the west with sleet deposits at lower levels, no problems reported. Posted: 05/02/2013 06:57

Inverness
3-6cm of snow on all routes, drifting on higher levels. Gritting and blading all routes by priority and policy. Posted: 05/02/2013 06:15
