Road condition and gritting treatment reports by The Highland Council’s, Transport, Environmental and Community Services for the morning of Wednesday 6 February 2013 are as follows:

Lochaber
A light covering of snow on higher, inland route up to 3cm, lower roads mostly wet but some frozen sleet in places. Heavy wintry showers ongoing, treating routes by priority. Posted: 06/02/2013 12:35

Caithness and North Sutherland
Covering of snow on higher, inland routes (up to 5cm), lower roads mostly wet but some frozen sleet in places. Heavy wintry showers ongoing, treating routes by priority. Posted: 06/02/2013 09:12

Ross and Cromarty
West coast, frequent snow showers. 7-10 cms of snow on high level routes. Eastern routes, icy stretches with a dusting of snow on most routes. Continuing to treat all routes by priority. Posted: 06/02/2013 09:08

Skye and Lochalsh
Icy patches and frequent hail and snow showers on all routes, slippery conditions, treatment of all routes on going. Posted: 06/02/2013 08:38

South Sutherland and East Ross
Dusting of snow on low ground. Up to 5cm on higher routes. All routes being bladed and treated in priority order. Posted: 06/02/2013 08:35

Nairn
Dusting of snow on higher routes, lower routes wet. Gritting routes requiring treatment. Posted: 06/02/2013 08:23

Badenoch and Strathspey 
North end of area light dusting of snow with patches of ice. South area 3 to 5 cm covering of snow. All routes being treated by priority. Snowing in south of area.

1-2cm snow on town roads. 2-4cm on rural roads with ice underneath in parts. Treating all routes as per policy, blading as required. Posted: 06/02/2013 06:54
